  3. I've just found out your wonderful blogs and have spent many hours looking around as must as possible. Although I have a classroom website, it isn't anything like these blogs. I am thinking of adding a link to my website to a classroom blog. That said, I would like to explain a fun spelling game my students love. It is a simple Tic-Tac-Toe game, but a bit different because the winning team isn't always the best speller, but the best tic-tac-toe players. We play this game when we have quite a bit of time on a Friday afternoon and we are tired. We usually play boys against girls, and even-numbered teams are not necesary. Arrange nine chairs in a 3X3 array to represent the tic-tac-toe grid. Simply give words out spelling-bee style. If the word is spelled correctly, the speller sits down where they desire. (Easy when girls against boys). If the word is spelled incorrectly, the other team gets a chance. I don't allow students to tell others where to sit, which leads to some strange choices. The kids always love this game!
