Playdough Number Mats

--> During the summer I enjoyed spending time creating and making and working on putting together the basic pieces to many items I will be using this year. One that I made was for my guided math and I was thinking that I would create a series of audio books that directly relate to the Common Core Standards. I want my students to listen to math concept audio books when they are finished with their math journals. Well, I didn't get super far, I really only made one book.

Why only one? Well... I couldn't stop creating! It spun into an entire little mini-set of items that all relate to basic numbers, numeral handwriting, using ten frames and figuring out how many more to make a number.

I am using this book with my kinders right now and they are loving the repetition of the story (I am just loving the break from talking and letting the CD do the reading for me!)

It hit me that I needed to take this book and add a playdough component to it, so that my kinders can begin doing a guided math activity independently. I'll begin to work in the other pieces, but for now, playdough is where we're at! I'm excited to share these playdough mats with you!

  4. Yikes, Mary! I'm not sure why... Perhaps someone else here will have an idea. Maybe try a different web browser like Firefox or Google Chrome perhaps?? Hope we can figure it out!
