Need some help from Mac users

With so many tech savvy TBA bloggers and readers, I thought I come here rather than posting  on my blog.  I am having an issue reading pdf files on my iMac.  Many, not all PDF file are unreadable.  They have large black blurred spots where text should be, the spots are there when I print too.   When I view the same file on my PC it looks fine.  Anyone know how to fix this- it is super annoying to find great things form other TBA author, but can't read them

  1. Download the pdf to your Google Docs account. This should solve the reading problem. However, if you decide to print, those blurs will still appear. ): I haven't figured out another way yet. Maybe I'll get some good advise from your post!

  2. Make sure you are opening it as a pdf NOT in preview :)

  3. I have that problem when I save it to a google docs. So, from google docs, on the far left - click on FILE. A small menu drops down. From there click on DOWNLOAD ORIGINAL. This will cause your downloads box to open and download the file directly onto your computer. The file will then be saved on your computer into your downloads. Then on my computer either my Preview program or my Adobe program opens and I can save then file wherever I would like, or go ahead and print the file, or just do both or one or what have you. I hope this helps.

  8. For me sometimes the problem is that the download doesn't have the .pdf extension when I download it. What I do is just click on the name and rename it. I keep the same name, just add .pdf to the name. It will ask you if you are sure you want to add it, just say yes.

  9. The problem is solved if you open the PDF in Adobe instead of Preview. Just open Adobe, go to File and then find your document and open.

    It will open perfectly!
