Silly answers to homeschool questions

When you homeschool, people will inevitably make comments. Here are my favorite replies, even though I haven't been brave enough to use them yet. :o)

What? No School Today?

"Goodness, no! I graduated 18 years ago, but thanks for the compliment!"

"What? Where did you guys come from? I thought I told you to stay at school! I'm sorry. This happens all the time." (sigh)

"Oh no! I thought that today was Saturday...come on kids, hurry!"

What About Socialization?

Laugh out loud and then say, "Huh?"

  1. Love it! The socialization thing was a big issue with me pulling my son out of public education, but as a public educator myself, I also know that the socialization I want my son to have is not happening in school because of the teach to the test craze!

  2. I love this! We've received nothing but support, but I'll have this list for when someone does ask me an unsolicited question! I used to wonder when I saw school-age kids at the park during the day...now I know they're likely homeschool kids so we take a chance and say "HI!"
