New and Old

Starting next week, I'll be reading...

with my kinders. If you haven't heard of it, it's a great way to discuss story patterns, problem and solution and what my class fondly refers to as "growing stories." We like to categorize them by format and it removes the mystery as we are learning how to write books and can try to model our writing after them.

We will be reading more growing stories when Christmas rolls around with a gazillion versions of The Gingerbread Man, and I'm excited to branch out with this newest find from our Scholastic Book Fair.
We usually fall in love with the rhythm of the original Gingerbread Girl, so I'm excited to add this to the mix! What are some of your latest read aloud finds?
