That dreaded parent email...

So, I think one of my least favorite emails in the past was the one that told me a kinder of mine was going to be missing school for a family vacation. Why, you ask? Well, because it was always followed up by asking for homework in advance.

Homework, school work, that far in advance to take with? Ummm... it is not a strength of mine to have that lined up and pulled so far in advance. And to remember to have it ready to go by the date they were leaving? I usually forgot! So, searching for a solution, I ended up coming up with my own! Now, I simply can print off my solution and have one ready to go regardless of when parents let me know, or when my kinder leaves for vacation. What is it?

  3. Hey girl- Love it!

In our district we aren't ALLOWED to give homework prior to students leaving for fun times on vacation or whatever. That makes it easy for me. I just pile up the work and toss the stuff that isn't ABSOULUTELY vital.

  5. This happens to me every year. Last year I got an email 11 minutes before the end of the day to inform me that a child would be traveling out of the country as of that evening, and would be gone for at least a month, but they were not sure of his return date! If there was any homework he could do, to please send it. The icing on the cake was that I didn't even see the email until after dismissal. He ending up being out from before Thanksgiving break until mid-January.
