Teacher Feature: MJ @ Teaching in Heels

Hi TBA Readers!
I'm MJ from Teaching in Heels. I'm currently a Title I Teacher for K-5.I've taught 5th, 3rd, 2nd, and reading intervention for K-3.
Like most teachers I find amazing inspiration through pinterest! My reading students loved to play Boggle!!  It was the perfect early finisher activity.

This art project was inspired by one of my favorite bloggers - Hadar @ Miss Kindergarten.  In my after-school reading club of 1st through 3rd graders we read about different seasons and painted them with q-tips.  I've never had students more well-behaved while doing art!!

Another pinspired activity that my students loved were these sight word bottles for my K and 1st graders.  I even had some of the higher grade students asking for some at their level.  And although I thought they could be very noisy, we discussed how to appropriately search for words and my kiddies were amazing!

One of my favorite things about setting up a classroom, which I've done many, many, many times because of all the budget cuts in CA and grade level changes, is organizing!!  Here's a little peek into one of the supply areas in my old reading classroom.

And just because I love how cozy it was...my old classroom library!  Now I'm using Daily 5 and CAFE, so it would look a little different.

The other part of Teaching in Heels, besides the teaching, is the heels!!  No, I don't wear heels everyday to school, but I do love to shop :)  I share tons of style tips, great sales, and outfits of the day on my blog.
