I have gone buggy, but in a good way! We have been learning about insects the last two weeks. We have a ladybug dome that we observe in our science center. I try really hard to remember to put water in it EVERY day. I kind of have a problem with keeping things (insects, fish, plants, etc.) alive. Don’t worry…all students are present and accounted for. They eat! But, sometimes that is all I can do. Anyway, I am not sure why I bothered to buy ladybug eggs when my students found every stage of ladybugs on our playground. We had ladybugs growing out of every area. It was so much fun! They love learning the correct terminology too, except one student keeps calling the pupa a “koopa”. J Precious!
Here is our science center. Students enjoy observing ladybugs in their new habitat until we put them outside.
We also had a great time with Interactive Writing and created this chart. I want all students to participate in some way so they have ownership in all work displayed in our classroom.
For a bigger peek at our week and what we are learning come by and grab these insect freebie too!
Have a great week!
