Hi! It's Terri from The Creative Apple

Well.... it has taken me long enough to introduce myself to you!  Sorry about that.  I have been working eagerly to finish my Ed.S. degree.  Tonight was my LAST class.  Did you hear that?  My LAST class!  I am super excited.  I am SUPER excited to be a part of Teaching Blog Addict.  It's such a great place to share ideas {and get them too}!

I am a 5th year teacher in a very rural area.  I teach 4th grade math and science.  I just came back from 12 weeks of maternity leave.  Many are eager for the summer, but I secretly wish we had a little more time.  Am I crazy????  As you may have noticed, I am a busy teacher who is always looking for ways to improve my instruction.  I love to create things for my classroom and often involve every free moment in creating materials.  It's an addiction, and I seriously need an intervention.  It actually came to the point where my husband forbid me to create anything else until I was finished with grad. school.  Thank you, husband.  You are such a genius because I would have never finished that paper! Ha!!!

My blog is a combination of classroom activities, teaching strategies (an entire vocabulary section I am currently working on), and a great deal of information regarding the guided math model I use in my classroom and general math instruction.  Since math is a HUGE part of what I do, most of my blog relates to 3-5 math instruction.  From time to time I will include science and reading ideas/activities.

On a personal note.... I am a busy mom of 2 boys ages 2 years and 3 months!  They are the sweetest boys ever.  We live in a very rural area in North Georgia, just minutes away from downtown Athens {University of Georgia}. My husband and I share a crazy beautiful life!
