(Ding, ding, ding! You are correct....that is a Kindergarten Common Core Standard!)
If you are from a typical kindergarten classroom, you have probably always introduced adding and subtracting in previous years, but never expected fluency with math facts...that is, until now! I am going to use Pete losing his buttons for subtraction and Pete finding his buttons for addition. Groovy, huh? The only thing I think that Pete might find a bit disturbing about this whole thing is that I am going to have to add a button to his jacket so we are in the proper parameters of 0-5 (there are only 4 buttons on his jacket in the actual book). Do you think Pete will care??? Goodness, no...he'll just keep walking along, singing his song, I am sure. Come on over to grab my FREE 10, 5 and double 10 frames to use with all of those extra buttons you have kicking around your classroom. Get students excited about the release of this new book (less than a month, but who's counting?) by sharing these fancy frames with them!
