As we've been working through our unit on elapsed time I started to notice that my students weren't really using a good strategy to find how much time has passed...in fact, they were using stack subtraction and borrowing!! GASP!!
So what did we do? We played The Amazing Race of course!

My students had the opportunity to work in groups, help each other understand how to solve elapsed time problems...and reflect on their own learning! It was a great activity and I think they really got a lot out of it. I hope you'll come by and check it out.
