Contour Drawings and 1 Point Perspective

Last week was my teaching evaluation and man was it stressful. So much work getting ready, lesson planning, preparing etc....! My house didn't get cleaned, the fridge was empty and the laundry is piling up. But whew.... it's done now. It's all in the past and I can concentrate on working with my students and getting ready for the end of the school year.

So what have we been doing while my evaluation was happening? In Math we have started our fractions unit, in Language Arts we are part way through an integrated reading/writing unit on point of view, main idea and persuasive writing but the most fun has been in Art!

We have been studying value, contour drawings and 1 point perspective and have worked our way through a few different projects and are currently working on the final project- a 1 point perspective city landscape.... but I wanted to show you what we have been doing to get ready for this assignment. You'll need to head over to Thinking of Teaching to read the full story but here's a sneak peek!
