Mother's Day Purse Poems

I admit it - I'm not one of those super organized teacher bloggers who has all their great ideas ready for you weeks early so you can use them at the right times in your classroom.  In fact, I'm lucky I even got in a Mother's Day activity with the busy week we had.  But we did manage to squeak one in.

We made little Mother's Day Purses using scrapbook paper and velcro dots.  We've been studying and writing poetry in our classroom lately, so I wanted the students to write a poem on the inside of the purses.  We used a simple "I Am" template poem (there are so many available on the internet), and changed the "I" to "Mom".  The purses turned out so cute!  Simple, quick, and crafty - PERFECT for our Friday afternoon!  Click on the picture to take a peek at our finished product.

I've also made a new set of cootie catchers - perfect for some End of the School Year partner or small group reflection!  (Have I mentioned how jealous I am of all of you almost through the school year??)  Come on over to my blog to check them out.

Have a FANTASTIC weekend ... and Happy Mother's Day!
