An Engaging Alternative to the Student Planner

Do you have your students fill out student planners or agendas every day?  For many years I have done just that, had students fill them out then take them home to have them signed.  While visiting another school district I came across their version of a planner.  I instantly fell in love with the idea and put it to immediate use.  My students simply use a composition notebook to write the day’s objectives.  This notebook is far more than that.  The notebook stays at their side at all times during the day and they are continually writing.  Many things go into this notebook and it goes home every day.  Parents see what we do in class on a daily basis.  If you want to learn more about what goes in this composition notebook and the fun name we give it, stop by Cooperative Learning 365.
