What do you think about a "no zero policy"?

Assessment is a hot topic, and I'm sure it always will be. We want our students to do their very best and be successful, bottom line. That's why we do what we do! However, what about when it seems like we care more about a student doing well than they do? Check out my latest blog post at: Lessons From the Middle. I share an article about a Canadian teacher who recently got suspended for giving zeros for unsubmitted work. When work is not submitted and every opportunity has been given to submit work, do consequences follow? What are these consequences and what are they really teaching our students?

What do you think? What's your school's policy?
