I know, I know....the book study is over but that doesn't mean we have to stop talking about math. In fact, I think that the conversation has just begun and that we will be seeing a lot of posts this coming school year about guided math, math stretches, calendar math and all the other good things that we discussed during the book study.
As I have been busy enjoying my summer and spending of my days with my beautiful 19 month old daughter I have been planning in my head. I know you all know what I am talking about because you are teaching addicts, not just teach blog addicts! LOL So in my head I have been thinking about Math Stretches and Calendar Math and how I want to incorporate them into my math program. I am concerned about overwhelming myself by trying too many things all at once so I am going to start off slow with these two concepts. I have been scouring the blogs out there for ideas about how I want my calendar to look and I've studied the math curriculum for my grade carefully. I think I am just about ready to start planning!!
But what will I use to plan?
Well, I'm glad that you asked. I will use these handy-dandy planning templates that I designed and just happen to have posted as a FREEBIE for all of you over at my blog, Thinking of Teaching. I would love for you all to visit and then tell me what you think. Also, if you've made any templates or planning sheets yourself, please let me know and I would love to check them out.
Lastly, I hope you are having a great Saturday and if you are already back at school then I really hope you are resting today!!
