The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are finally here, so I have shared some ideas to celebrate the Olympics at home or school with you.
Olympic Games are a great opportunity for children to get acquainted with different sports and different countries. But most importantly, it is a great excuse to work on the central message offerred during the activities: peace and friendship.
This is one of the games I made to celebrate the Olympic Games in my class. It is a simple, yet beneficial activity that has young learners matching upper and lower case letters. You can use it as a springboard to discuss all of the other themes that come along with the Olympics! I hope you can find a use for it in your classroom.
